Grand Master Richard “Huk” Planas is considered to be the encyclopedia of the Kenpo Karate system. Mr. Planas began his training in Kenpo in Fresno, CA. and later moved to Pasadena, CA. to work for Mr. Ed Parker as a brown belt. He received his black belt from Mr. Parker. He became the manager of the Pasadena school for several years as well as the Executive Vice President of the International Kenpo Karate Association (I.K.K.A.). Known as an “instructor`s instructor,” Grand Master Planas teaches the “whys” of Kenpo, not just the “hows”, based on the rules and principals of motion.
